Show ‘Israel’ the Red Card

In April 2024, inspired by Palestinian children who had protested Israel’s participation in FIFA, Scottish Sport for Palestine contacted Celtic fans in the Green Brigade to launch the Show Israel the Red Card campaign. The objective of the campaign was to extend the Palestinian movement to football stadiums worldwide. In doing so, it also sought to normalise support for Palestinian rights within football, a sport that has historically penalised such expressions of solidarity due to societal Islamophobia and racism. The campaign was launched the following year with actions since being carried about across 30+ countries, involving more than 200 clubs.
